My dearest God,

What, O Lord, is it that takes us deeper into your spirit? What is the power by which human minds are able to enter a spiritual consciousness, tripping into eternity's realm?

Tonight I stood with 149 others to sing out our faith, to lift our voices as high as heaven would allow, to offer our community praise and to give witness to the majesty of God. As we sang about you, we sang with you. We joined the throngs of those whose rest is won, the angels and saints and with our sisters and brothers to declare your mighty work on earth. With brass, organ, violin, piano and flute you did indeed open heaven's doors.

During such holy moments, I do sense your abiding presence. I do find myself walking through heaven's gates. I do sing with those who cannot stop singing glory to you, my God. Even when the festival has concluded, the lights have been turned out, the cookies put away and the doors locked up, I still feel the divine connection. Gratitude oozes from me like love's first sight. I whisper prayers of thanksgiving as I reflect upon your countless works of blessing in human life.

Wondrous God,
all honor
and glory
belong to you.
You are God
and there
is no other.
Rising from
earth's door
to touch
things unseen
fills me
with such joy
that I feel
I may
surely burst!
My love overflows;
my praise
spills over
filling pools
of hope.
Loving God,
I bow down;
at your feet,
I whisper
my adoration
and devotion.
