My dearest God,
I felt my spirit dance with you all day long. As I pondered Sunday morning's worship service, I smiled recalling your faithfulness to be the Living word. And why not? What is the bible but a manifestation of your life among humans?
The older I grow the more I realize just how "living" you are. On any given day I may see you many times in people, in nature, in music, and even in my own self. And I have to tell you each time my heart is warmed, my mind is opened more to your spirit, and my soul is drenched in love for you.
Yesterday I watched the gentle way in which your spirit entered into the lives of those in the congregation. I saw their eyes open to the glory of your love ever so present in the sanctuary. I watched them join in the morning message in song and I realized that the spiritual life is both communal and personal. Each one united themselves with the body but also traveled a road alone. It was perhaps the most beautiful happening of the whole morning.
As I witness your spirit more and more, I recognize a love that is deeper than any love. What do I say to this?
Most Holy and Loving God,
who could
deny you?
Who would
want to?
Continually open
our eyes
to your presence
in the world
around us.
Make us
a testimony
to your goodness,
I pray.
Love, Andrea
