Dear God,

How do we measure faith? With a tape measure, a measuring cup, a gallon jug? How do we know when we have just the right amount? How do we know when we are getting dangerously low?

I don't want a faith that is just adequate. I suspect that when I want to act upon faith if I don't have enough, I will run into doubt and fear. I will then return to my own devices and I will never have enough courage, strength, and trust to achieve my goals or yours. I want a faith that is measureless.

How do I grow faith more every day? I pray. I try to be generous with love and helpfulness. I try to give and share. I try to live a disciplined life. However, often I feel short of faith. When I give in to temptation to be less than you want me to be, I know my faith is decreasing. When I resist your challenges to rise higher, I know my faith is too small. When I fail to step up, I know my faith is too shallow.

How, O Lord, can I increase my faith to be all you want me to be?

Great Teacher,
show me
the way
to faith.
Teach me
the secrets
of a
faith-filled life.
Help me,
I pray.

Love, Andrea
