My dearest God,
Your gifts to us are many. Sunrises, sunsets, even a high noon sun can shine different rays upon us. But tonight at near dusk, watching the sun set slowly in the west casting the shadow of four seated on the seawall at Mother's Beach while eating our dinner meal was a thing of beauty.
The more time I spend on this planet, the more I recognize the hidden gems planted all around us. Sometimes a treasure will be revealed for only a moment and then it is gone until the next time. At other times the rare jewels are transparent for all to see, at least those who anticipate seeing you in our midst.
I wonder how many blessings I have missed because I was preoccupied with other things. Perhaps I was distracted by not getting my way or wanting to do things the way I wanted them done all the while another path was awaiting my arrival. I am sure I kicked aside beautiful pathways to fantastic destinations all because I was not paying attention.
On the other hand as I reflect upon my 64 years, I am stupefied by the countless many pearls that have been revealed to me. And I know I was rarely deserving of such goodness; yet, you gave me eyes to see, ears to hear, and tastebuds to taste of your grace. Tonight I am filled with gratitude.
God of Many Gifts and Blessings,
I honor you
with my love,
my devotion
and faith.
What else
can I
give you
to express
my thanksgiving?
Love, Andrea
