Dearest God,

You know that honoring you brings joy to our lives.  You know our spirits are lifted, our faith is emboldened, and our courage is strengthened.  You know bringing glory to your name makes for good character, loving neighbors, and faithful witnesses to your living spirit.

As I entered the sanctuary of the church with my granddaughter Sophie by my side, I knew I would be drinking in that spirit, allowing it to fill my insides with the goodness of heaven.  In turn as I sang "Sing of the Glory" with the choir, I knew I would be paying homage to the One whose love blesses me every time I gather with people of faith.  What a lovely, fruitful cycle of love!

Grand and Glorious God,
I give thanks
for you,
your living presence,
your patience,
and gracious gifts.
Thank you
for the privilege
of honoring you,
lifting up
your name,
and serving you.
Thank you
for entrusting me
with your word,
your song,
and your message.
