Dear God,
My favorite uncle died today, my dad's twin brother. I feel sad; yet, I hold within me his tenderness, his caring ways, his wit, and all the memories.
The older I become, the more value I place on memories. As I reflect upon my life with my dad and uncle, I find a well of love, laughter, and fun. Our family's natural wit comes from the two of them. What a gift to keep and share.
As I go about my life, I recognize how every day counts. I know I have the responsibility of making memories with my loved ones. I have the privilege of bringing joy into the world and prayer for the world so far away.
I know, by your grace, the love I possess is the love that comes from you. When I share my love with someone else, I am really sharing your love. In my journey back in time, I have to acknowledge just how much love I have received through the years from so many sources, Daddy and Uncle Merrill are just two of those. I am so grateful.
O Lord,
thank you
for so
many gifts.
Thank you
for my uncle,
for his life
and love.
Enable me
to pass
some of
your love,
the love
I received
from my family,
on to others,
I pray.
Love, Andrea
