Dear God,

Every day you teach me a life lesson.  No day goes by that I do not learn something from you.  Today I learned  it is not the big things that speak of miracles but rather the small things.

As I go about my daily life, I take for granted the small things.  I forget the air is a free gift from you.  The magnificent colors of the sky, the trees, the flowers, and the soil appear every day, all free.  The ability to smile, to frown, to laugh and to cry, to clear out the clutter in one's soul are free gifts.  The look on a child's face, the wonder in their eyes, and their wide-eyed amazement at daily discoveries come often, naturally, and freely.  Love so wondrously expressed through a variety of lovely gestures is also free, an indescribably beautiful gift.

All these and many more rise up each morning to greet us, all miracles, gifts, and blessings.

Thank you,
O God,
for forgotten treasures
found all
around us.
Thank you
for the
infinite number
of free gifts
you give us daily.
Keep ever
before us
the appreciation
of small things
we have
not worked for,
but are
daily given.
Thank you
for gratitude,
a glorious gift
in itself.

Love, Andrea
