Dear God,

I am coming to understand how we have to share the planet together.  This morning when I went to my vegetable garden, I found a large area where the soil was indented.  I wondered what in the world created it.  All of a sudden I remembered seeing a huge wild turkey strutting around the field.  Sure enough I had created a soft spot for a turkey to roost.

Sometimes I forget the land where I grow my vegetables does not belong to me.  In fact it belongs to my neighbor whose family has owned the land for more than 60 years.  But she doesn't ultimately own it either.  Some day she will die and someone else will own it.  Throughout the centuries the land will be held by many different people.  In the end it will simply belong to you.

Thank you
for providing
a space
on earth
for me.
Thanks for
my little corner
of the universe.
Teach me
to lovingly care
for what
you give me.
Help me
leave it
in better shape
for the
next person
as an
act of kindness
and appreciation.

Love, Andrea
