Dearest God,

Faith can open the door to creativity.  Faith can increase our ability to generate ideas that will make a mark.  Faith can spark something new within us as we trust in you to fully open us to lead meaningful, valuable, and productive lives.

Some say faith is a crutch as if we are crippled.  A crutch?  Really?  If it serves as a crutch during very difficult times so be it.  What a gift!  But I say faith is so much more.

As we open ourselves more and more to you, a vast new world opens itself to us.  As we wander the halls of this great mystery, we are enabled and empowered to do more than we ever thought possible. We touch heaven, the saints, and even those whose lives touched and inspired us so deeply.  We meet and greet the faith of others whose witness is profound.  We are strengthened not because we are weak and fragile but because faith brings more out of us.  We discover a treasure trove of ideas waiting to give birth.

Who would not want faith, O Lord?

Create in us
a desire
to more fully
know you.
Guide us
to the
deepest dimensions
of faith
so our knowing
will be met
with greater love
and devotion.
Thank you,
O God,
for the marvels
of faith.
