Dear God,

Another delay in my husband's surgery brings disappointment and an underlying fear. Although we believe it is for the best, still the continued waiting is difficult. Leaning on you for extra strength is our only answer.

Allowing fear to overtake us in uncertain times leads to greater difficulty.  Perceived threats come from every direction.  Tension builds and overflows.  Exhaustion takes over.  Our wells appear empty.

But when we turn to faith, life unfolds so differently.  We uncover more resources.  Grace fills us up with patience, courage, and trust.  We breathe easier because we sense your nearness. Fear is kept at bay. Love grows. We find strength in one another because you are with us. We are at peace once again.

Your love
fills us
with everything
we need
to live faithfully.
As we trust
in you,
waiting becomes
less intimidating.
We drink in
the living drink
of heaven
and find
our thirst quenched.
Thank you,
dearest Lord.

Love, Andrea
