Dear God,

The days are growing darker; there are fewer daylight hours.  Winter is approaching and I find myself thinking about the weeks leading up to Christmas and Epiphany.  I love that time because many of us begin to think about others.  We become more generous, looking around for causes where we can give more.  We sing easily and participate in events where people get together to celebrate and to love one another.  More go to church because they know there is something there that touches that longing in our hearts for more than ourselves.  We commence our transformation as we seek the babe in the manger.

I am so grateful for the seasons of faith that stir and inspire.  I want to become more generous, more loving, more giving.  I want to share more of myself and my faith.  I want to be a bright light at Christmas because I am positive whose light I radiate.  I want to increase my love and share it with those around me.  I want to bless others because you bless me.

Holy God,
thank you
for the pilgrimage
of faith
that teaches me
to look
beyond myself
to your
great light.
Let my
tiny light
be your light
to shine
in the darkness
where fear
and sorrow exist.
Thank you,
thank you,
dear God,
for the light
of faith.

Always, Andrea
