Dear God,

"I want to help."  I heard the woman say.  Before I knew it there were others who said the same thing.  Helping at Christmas came easy to those with gentle spirits and generous hearts.

I've heard many stories of helping hands this Christmas and I know where that generosity comes from.  Why would anyone want to give aid to troubled strangers if not for your leading?  You are loving, encouraging, and kind.  Everyone would be cared for if we each listened to your call to be generous.  Sometimes we fail to hear; other times we don't have the means.  There are even times when we say NO.  But when we say YES and we follow through, you stretch our hearts and fill them with loving compassion.  You give us a greater ability to share, to love, to be merciful.

As I wrap gifts for the family you called us to care for on Grandparents Day, my own heart swells with love for you.

Thank you,
Generous God,
for connecting us
with this family
and others.
Thank you
for allowing us
to partner
with you.
Thank you
for Christmas
and every day
of the year.
Weave us
into each
others' lives,
I pray.

Love, Andrea
