My dearest God,
Children cry from Syria, millions of them. Another war has claimed the world's children. What do we do to stop nonsensical conflict that puts so many people at risk?
With all my heart I believe you love every child on the planet whether a few weeks old or 100 years old. I know each child is of inestimable value. So how do we protect each one? How do we provide for the needs of all, not just for the needs of some?
Give us wisdom, O Lord. Teach us to care for our neighbor at home and far away. Show us compassion so we may reach out, listen, and care. Ideologies that destroy are never an answer!
Compassionate God,
please give us
a willingness
to listen
to our
neighbor's plea.
Forgive us
when we expect
our own way.
Guide us
toward justice
for all,
I pray.
Love, Andrea
