Dear God,

What does one do when surrounded by enemies who wish to do harm, Lord?  How does one manage to find food and fresh water when the enemy holds them both?  How do we step out of war that has us hemmed in from every side? 

When all is lost, O Lord, you are all we have.  In the depths of deep darkness, you are the only light.

Teach us,
O God,
the way
of love,
peace,
and harmony
where every person
is valued.
Help us
find ways
to make
the world
a better place
for all people.
Help us
find you
in the darkness,
I pray.
