Dear God,

I believe you are doing a new thing in our family.  There are so many issues arising right now that I know you are pushing us toward the new life you want to give us.  I also know this is always the most difficult part.  Things look chaotic.  Emotions are fragile.  Family members are at odds with each other.  To the outside all looks like loss and yet...

I realize more and more how faith helps us see the future with hope although at the moment there may be little or no evidence of change.  I also know how you work to help us move toward your goal for us.  It may take a very long time to see new birth.  But I believe with Paul who penned the letter to the Romans, "For we know that up to the present time all of creation groans with pain like the pain of childbirth."  There is no doubt about it we are groaning in your creation process.

The challenge you give us is to take the step you set before each of us.  We are to pray, to repent, to watch, to walk, to live in hope, and to walk in the light.  As we take steps out of darkness into the light, we see your way and your will better and better.  If we follow you, truly follow you, we will find our way home and you, my Lord, are our sacred home.

Blessing to you,
Holy God;
receive the blessing
of our belief,
our hope,
and our faith.
Change us
from within.
Make us new,
I pray.
