Dear God,
We remembered together. We began by remembering the last supper with your disciples when you gave them food and drink and requested they remember you the next time and the next. We each one selected a patchwork quilt, a memory quilt. As we pointed out unique squares, we remembered others, recounting precious memories of loved ones, family and friends, retreat sisters, and faith. We ended our spiritual exercise with remembering you once again by offering and partaking of the same spiritual food and drink.
What a good exercise it is to remember. Your words to us to remember keep us focused on faith, trust in you, and our relationship with you. It helps us keep you at the center of our lives remembering how valuable a loving spiritual center is when we determine our attitude and make daily decisions. As we do a spiritual inventory, we remember miracles, healings, challenges, helps, holy times when you touched us, inspired us, and assisted us in our move from darkness to the light, from despair to hope, and from chaos to peace.
As we remember, may we always remember you first and last.
Good and Gracious God,
thank you
for urging us
to remember
and give thanks.
Thank you
for spiritual food
and drink.
Thank you
for divine compassion
that keeps us close.
Bless you, Lord, bless you!
Love, Andrea
