Dear God,

Religious music opens the door to the soul.  There you speak faith to your children. "Awaken," you may say, as our spirit may be sleeping.  "Child," you may hearken us, reminding us we are not just anyone's child but your very own.  "Remember," you may challenge us to recall tender moments of love and mercy.

The inner recesses of the soul need the Master's touch when we are far off.  Music, the language of faith, touches and inspires us.  We discover once again the gifts of hope and peace and we know joy always comes with these.

As we open ourselves to you, O Lord, we are revived from our sleep, renewed in our relationship, and restored in our memory.

Gracious God,
you alone
speak hope
to the weary soul.
You unfold
your divine mysteries
to us.
You speak
and we
are made new.
