Dear God,

When there is nowhere else to run, you invite us to run to you.  Often we wish to push back from life.  We want to leave this world full of pain, suffering, and fear.  We want to rid ourselves of horrible news reports, failed relationships, and negative banter.  We want the peace only you can give.

Sometimes personal and societal issues strike at the same time.  We can feel overwhelmed and despairing.  We get all filled up with crap until we spill over flavoring those around us.  Hopelessness begets hopelessness and before we know it we operate as if you do not exist at all.

The invitation to run to you is a very beautiful thing.  We can come to you with it all, our fullness and our emptiness.  You welcome us with both.  There in your care miracles occur when our fullness empties out and your love and compassion fill us up.

Most Holy and Wondrous God,
thank you
for your
marvelous gifts.
Thank you
for calling us home
and welcoming us back.
Thank you
for tending
our wounds,
patching us up,
and filling us up
with you.

Love always, Andrea
