Dear God,

We look for you among the carnage.  We look for you in the unnatural quiet.  We look for you in the darkness.  We look for you in the midst of evil.  We look for you in the fear.

How can it be that hatred can grow so as to motivate people to kill, maim, and destroy?  How can we allow darkness to consume us to the point of giving evil the power to overtake us?  How can we take the lives of so many innocent people?

We look for you, O Lord, because we have no where else to turn.  No one can give us comfort like you.  No one can bring us peace like you.  No one can break us free from fear like you.  No one can help us like you.  No one can dispel the darkness like you.  No one.

We turn
to you
in tragedy,
O Lord,
for every day
there is tragedy
in someone's soul.
Hearts are broken
every day, Lord.
May we
find you
in the chaos,
the blood,
and the destruction.
Make us lovers
instead of haters,
I pray.

Love always, Andrea
