Dear God,

Forgive us, please, forgive us for believing we are always right to the point that we hurt, maim, or kill others.  Forgive us when we lurk in the darkness until just the right time to pounce on others.  Forgive us when we seek to spread fear.  Forgive us when we do all this in the name of God.

Make us new.  Cleanse us from the inside out.  Adjust our minds, hearts, and souls.  Teach us the concept of love, mercy, understanding, wisdom, and kindness.  Show us the way to real peace where every human is treated as the beloved, I pray.
