Dear God,

"Breaking free from what one was before..." the author of Sacred Space wrote in the Irish Jesuit devotional book.  Breaking free.  The words lifted off the page reminding me we are not held in bondage forever.  You give us the capacity to break the chains that bind us.  We do not have to remain the way we are; we can break free from whatever holds us back or down. 

So often we think things will always be the same because nothing will change.  However, such thinking gives no credence or power to your spirit that can free us.  We forget your Holy Spirit power is different from human power.  We are limited but you are not.

As I read these words before turning out the light for the night, I realized once again how faith produces spirit power that can help us overcome whatever troubles us.  We are not weaklings; rather, we are people of spiritual power and strength.  Such good news lifted the lid of my praise for you!

Holy Spirit God,
thank you
for valuable
life lessons.
Thank you
for infusing us
with power
from on high.
Thank you
for love
that holds
the power.
