Dear God,

The truth will indeed set us free.  A search for the truth is not easy; yet, at times only truth will release us from the bonds of depression, hopelessness, and despair.  Truth can help us find the spiritual cache of internal resources ever present in every human being.

This is the hope I offered to a young person this week.  Lost in darkness, I watched as the light began to spark and shine.  Hope was born, not enough to cure, but the right amount to get started on the trek of healing and wholeness.

You offer us daily gifts to help us move forward in life.  You give us light to reveal our way home.  You provide love, not the cheap, happy, yappy kind but a deep, abiding eternal love that can hold us steady while the stormy winds blow.  It is you, O Lord, whose relationship to us is the one gift that never tarnishes, fades, or falls apart.  You are enough to assist us toward truth and freedom.

Holy Father,
ever present,
ever loving,
ever compassionate,
thank you
for all
your wondrous gifts.
Take us home
to you,
to wholeness,
I pray.
I love you.
