Dear God,

You have taught me to love the darkness because it is in the darkness where the light really shines.  It is the darkness that leads me to you.  In the darkness my heart finds the sacred rhythm of faith.

I love getting up early while the darkness still pervades the skies.  I love looking out my window and finding tiny lights shining.  I love how my own eyes adjust to the darkness helping me see just enough to make my way from room to room.  I love the darkness because even the darkness belongs to you.

and light,
thank you
for revealing
the way
to us.

for the
homing device
so present
in each one
of us.
Thank you
for eternity's light
that ever shines.
