Dear God,
In the darkness we see the light more brightly shining. In despair our need for you is more apparent. In fear we draw ever more closely to faith. It seems in the most difficult places we are opened to the grandeur of living faith in the presence of the Holy Almighty.
When we live and play in the shallow end, we often fail to see what we can only see when in the deep. We can live on the surface and enjoy all the surface has to offer, but the deep, ah, yes, the deep can provide us with so much more. Faith resides in the deep. Peace, the kind that gets inside our DNA, lives there too. Joy is always a bubbling fountain.
Why do we spend so much time in the shallow end, Lord? Is it because it is predictable, understood, and easily managed, very few risks? You offer us so much more when you ask us to follow you and following you always takes us to the deep. There we experience the majesty of creation, the wonders of healing faith, and the hope that originates in the deepest part of the soul. There we walk with eternity's creator, the one that hurled the stars into the darkest night, the one who called the cosmos into being, and the one who calms the most troubled soul.
Gracious Redeemer,
thank you
for the deep,
the place
where perpetual light
always shines.
Thank you
for divine love
that always
invites us
to more.
Thank you
for faith
that reveals
the deep.
Love always, Andrea
