Dear God,
Conversion, the powerful word leapt from the page as I listened to my colleague read the morning devotion for our covenant group. Conversion.
The author of the book shared how she grew up in an atheistic home. Yet, one day in her teenage years she was compelled to attend the local neighborhood church. When the pastor invited the people to the Eucharist, she went forward. She said when she received the bread, it became the moment of her conversion.
Conversion is the work of your spirit, Holy God. Divinely, mysteriously you reach from heaven to earth to transform us. If bread can lead to an instantaneous converted heart, then any experience can become the same moment of change for any of us.
When I reflect upon past experiences, I can recount time after time when my own heart was converted, my mind changed, and my spirit altered. In every case your Holy Spirit power was at work. What can we say to that but thank you, God Most High.
Loving God,
thank you
for the work
of conversion.
Thank you
for transforming power
that can
bring relief,
release, and hope.
Remind us daily
to give thanks
for conversion
that makes us new.
Love, Andrea
