Dear God,

You remind us to trust, to trust you to lead us, renew us, and challenge us.  When everything else seems lost and gone, the opportunity for trust remains.

Trusting in you, O Lord, is a gift from on high.  First, you give us faith, that wild and wonderful hope and belief in a creator, sustainer, and redeemer.  Secondly, you give us love, that amazing, incomprehensible embrace that is free and always available.  Next, you give us trust, the ability to surrender ourselves and our loved ones into your arms, to let go of the reigns and let you move us in the way you know is best for us.

Trusting you takes the pressure off us.  It relieves us of worry, anxiety, and fear.  It allows us to breathe in the air of hope, light, and blessing.  When we are not worrying, we can breathe in the fresh air of your wondrous living spirit.  Only then will we have room for joy to enter even in the worst of circumstances.
