Dear God,

The waves of faith can wash over us revealing the wonders of your grace.  When we are quiet and waiting, expectant, anticipating the movement of your spirit, we discover the ways in which your living presence is all around us.

Of all things, it occurred at a church bean supper.  Two couples sat eating, laughing with friends.  Their joy was contagious, their faith compelling.  One couple...the husband in remission from prostate cancer, leukemia, and melanoma, the wife, a recipient of a second kidney transplant, their only daughter a kidney recipient as well and the other couple with a fair share of health issues and family  difficulties; yet, the faith present at our table was enough to fill the whole room.

Oh, Lord, we recognize how quickly life can take us down but through faith given to us by your own hand you can cause us to rebound and rise up almost as if nothing had happened at all.  You give us your strength and whisper our name.  In doing so, we can move mountains and bless all those around us.

Almighty God,
thank you
for faith.
Thank you
for quiet moments
that inspire us
to look deeply
for your
living presence
in our midst.
Thank you
for all those
who bless us
with faith.

Love, Andrea
