Dear God,
Sin has no comfortable place in our lives. When we err, big or small, it takes up residence in our weary souls. It begins to eat away the light, the hope, and the joy we may have. It is supposed to. When our minds come to the conclusion what sin is doing, we have the opportunity to rid ourselves of that which steals our calm.
You put your love in our hearts. You made us in your image; therefore, love is part of our DNA. You made us to love you, to love ourselves and others. But sin begins to rob us of the joy of your love. It can work on us until we lose our way.
As I consider the gift of your gracious love, it is enough to make me reconsider my sin and what I want to do with it. Until I take your hand, sin has its way with me.
Holy Father,
thank you
for your
tender love
that fills us
with you.
Thank you
for a conscience
that keeps us close
to you.
Cleanse us,
O Lord,
from all sin
that we
may see
the light
of your love
once again.
Love, Andrea
