Dear God,
There is a joyous anticipation when we make ready and drive to church on Sunday mornings. We know we will enter your holy house. We will sing and pray. We will hear the scriptures read, listen as the message is proclaimed, and offer up our individual and collective praise. We know we will meet you.
There is no day of the week more meaningful than the day we gather for worship. Something happens to us when we join in fellowship with other believers. Our hearts are open, exposed to the sacred elements of worship. Your Holy Spirit touches and inspires us. The more open we are, the greater the impact you have upon our soul, mind, and heart. As we sit in the quiet and allow you to move within us, we have opportunity to be changed, transformed. Our petty differences can dissolve, our confusion can be lifted, and our frustrations can be eased. Peace can come in your loving presence.
Holy Father,
in your presence
all things
are possible.
As we
wait upon you,
our hearts
can be refreshed,
our minds
can be renewed,
and our souls
can be restored.
Thank you
for the blessing
of worship.
Love always, Andrea
