Dear God,

Green leaves are popping through the winter soil, a sign of spring.  The trouble is it is too early.  Chances are frost will take them down.  They will wither and turn brown.  When it's really time, they will be a little lackluster.

We are like those tiny, anxious flowers.  We too want to rise and catch the light.  We want to bloom now but often, we fail to count the cost when we have not properly nourished our roots, dug down deep for spiritual nutrients, and breathed the clean, clear air of your spirit.  When we are not really ready we are like the seed that falls on rocky soil.

We want to live in your time, Lord.  We want to follow your lead.  We want to drench ourselves in Holy Spirit water so we can become strong,  durable, and beautiful.  Just for you, dear God, just for you.

Thank you
for living lessons
that teach us
your will
and your way.
Remind us
to take
our instructions
from you.
Show us
the time,
the real time
to blossom
and bloom
with you.

Love, Andrea
