Dear God,

You send us many voices of faith!  A sunrise, a bible verse, a song, a simple gesture of love, an act of forgiveness, and a prayer spoken on our behalf are all voices of faith.  They comfort, help, and inspire. If we start our day with any of these, we ground ourselves in faith and are given the opportunity to inspire someone else.

This morning as I sat in our writing room reading my devotional books, a chapter from the gospel of John, and read the history and sang a hymn of old, I realized you were grounding me for the day.  I never really thought about it that way; however, you brought your gift to mind. I acknowledged how I need grounding each day.  To start the morning with you galvanizes my faith, blesses my heart, and clears out the clutter in my soul.  It reminds me to keep you first so that I can look through the lens of faith every day.

What boggles my mind is this:  I am no one special.  I have done nothing to earn your kindness.  Yet, in your mercy, you speak to me, plant my feed in faith daily, and set me on life's journey.  What blessing!  What joy!
