Dear God,

You teach us to wait upon the Lord.  You know waiting gives us time to pray and meditate, to reflect and be silent, and to appreciate your ways.  Waiting refines and changes us.

We never want to wait, Lord.  We want instant answers.  We want to roll right through difficulties, complexities, and hard things.  In this day and age of technology, we like clicking on a button and everything being the way we want it.  But how will we ever learn?  How will we ever "become" who you want us to be?  How will we ever discover you?

There are so many stories of waiting.  The Hebrews waited 40 years.  Some people wait a lifetime.  Yet, in the waiting you promise to remain close to us as a guide, a helpmate, and a change agent.

Blessed Lord,
forgive us
when we rebel
against waiting.
Thank you
for lessons
we learn
when we
take your hand
and trust you.
Thank you
for waiting
that gives us
a new perspective,
healing, and growth.

Love, Andrea
