Dear God,

Who loves more than you?  Who provides more opportunity to gather to love one another?  Who shows love more through creation, humankind, and every day living?  No one more than you, O Lord.

Dawn's stirring is a call to love.  "Awaken, awaken," it calls out, "awaken to love, my gift of today."  If we awaken from our sleep and step close to the sun rising, we too will hear the gentle, beautiful words of the Creator.

This morning I witnessed a spectacular sunrise.  I felt called to the front door, to open it and look out.  There awaiting all children were the colors on the horizon, the sun nearly ready to peek its head above the drawn line.  I welled up with love and joy and gratitude.  Who offers more?

Blessed God,
giver of all that is good,
thank you
for the blessing
of the
early morning sunrise.
Thank you
for speaking love
to us
first thing
in the morning.
Thank you
for stirring us awake
so as
not to miss
your daily offering.
