Dear God,
Every day seems to swiftly go by. No sooner am I up at 5:00 a.m. when it is time to crawl back into bed by 8:00 or 9:00 p.m.
Twenty four hours, each day affords us 24 hours to breathe in your spirit, to pray, to do our work, to love one another, and to express gratitude. Some days we intentionally walk with you, listen when you speak, and offer our annoyances, worries, and fears. Other days we move along without much sense of the holy in our every day living. Twenty four hours.
Yet, in that time you give us, we have opportunities for faith, service, and grace. We can rise in praise and thanksgiving reflecting upon the gifts in the night, of warmth, comfort, and safety. We can go about our day helping others, sharing a smile with a grouch in the grocery or on the road, praying for a person in trouble or distress, forgiving someone who hurts us, helping someone in need, or making good choices based on faith. We can bless those around us in some many different ways.
Twenty four hours, a gift from your hand.
Loving God,
thank you
for blessing us
each day.
Thank you
for twenty four hours,
day after day.
Thank you
for grace
to live it
with you.
Love, Andrea
