Dear God,

Each new dawn is a call to prayer, a time of reflection, and to express gratitude.  A new day, fresh from your own hand is not just some take-for-granted activity.  It is a beautiful, intentional gift given to every creature on the planet.  Are we aware?  Do we see it?  Do we recognize the blessing?

We often just think of the day with more tasks to do and little time to do them.  We get frustrated because we can't imagine getting everything done.    In doing so we fail to recognize the incredible giftedness of your love expressed through creation.

On the other hand, when the early morning darkness gives way to the light and it begins to creep and crawl onto the horizon and we are stunned by its amazing beauty, we are wowed into praise and thanksgiving.  We gaze upon the sacred movement and watch as the sun peeks out bringing with it spectacular colors that swiftly spread across the sky.  We fix our eyes on your blessed handiwork and we know that we know that we know we are seeing God.

of faith
to know
it comes
from you.
Thank you
for all
your love
that is
splashed upon
the sky.
