Dear God,
Shades of brown, beautiful shades of brown. As I drove the final 480 plus miles home, all I saw for miles was brown. Instead of seeing the deadness of winter, I witnessed all colors of brown especially when the sun's rays kissed the trees and ground. There was golden brown, auburn brown, blonde, creamy brown and milk chocolate. Each amazing color glowed in the warm sunshine on a cold, winter day.
We are so used to seeing things a particular way. Day after day, year after year, decade after decade we get bored seeing the "same old thing." In the "dead"of winter we cry out for spring so we frequently miss out on the majesty of your creation right before our eyes. Yet, on my drive home this week you invited me to look deeper, to see something more and I did. For the first time in my life I celebrated brown, the beautiful shades of brown.
Creator God,
thank you
for pointing me
in the
right direction.
Thank you
for your beauty
all around us.
Thank you
for awakening me
to the
amazing color
of brown.
I love you.
Love always, Andrea
