Dear God,

I stood and watched it from my bedroom window.  A tiny bird sat on a snow-laden branch.  Ringed in by other beautiful snowy branches she sat still almost as if in prayer.  Her quiet rest spoke to me.

In the midst of a busy life, you invite us to sit and rest, to wait and to breathe in your cool spirit breath.  You draw us in, show us the way of solitude and then open us to the deep dimensions of faith's revealing.  You give us living water to wet our thirst and spiritual food to fill our deepest hunger.  You sing your songs of hope, peace and joy.  You allow us to dwell with you for a moment, a minute or even a longer stretch of time.  You pray with and for us.

Thank you
for the
tiny bird,
O Lord.
Thank you
for her witness.
Thank you too
for her
sweet beauty.
Thank you
as well
for her
grace-filled reminder.

Love always, Andrea
