Dear God,
An invasion of my home unsettled and distressed me. While we were away a wild animal got into our home doing damage and leaving behind signs of their presence. As I poked along the fireplace a chipmunk shot out from behind the mantle and ran off into the bedroom area of the house. So upsetting and disgusting!
I drove to the store and bought a catch and release cage. I came back home, put food on the bait tray and set the trap. As I drove away because I simply could not stay there (only room for one of us in our home) I wondered how critters of a different kind get inside my soul, like anger, resentment, bitterness and more.
I came to realize once again how I need to be on alert for unwanted and deadly critters in my soul, heart and mind. I had to pray asking for help on the "home" front, my house where I live and also my soul where my faith resides.
Forgive me,
O Lord,
for not keeping
my home
clean for you.
Help me
rid myself
of all
that keeps me
from you.
Thank you
for grace
that cleanses
and forgives.
Love always, Andrea
