Dear God,
How horrid one outrageous terrorist action could cause another! Horrible deaths at a mosque in New Zealand was apparently the motivation for the bombings and deaths of many more at churches in Sri Lanka. Must we always allow evil to win? Whether Muslim or Christian, there are many families in great pain and we must pray for them all.
Where does this terrible bent toward evil come from? Why does it remove all rational and reasonableness from the human mind in order to kill, destroy and harm? Why must we hate so much to hurt others?
O Lord, you give us faith, faith that trusts and depends on you. You open the door to your heart, your comfort, your love, mercy and compassion. You provide us with a way to peace. Even in our greatest sorrow, you are the source of our hope. Teach us to lean on you, to trust you for strength and to rely on you to help us make decisions to lift up rather than take down.
Be our
loving guide,
O God.
Show us
the way
to ultimate love.
Help us
to understand,
respect and love
our neighbor
even if
they are different
than you.
Heal all
who are hurting today,
O God,
I pray.
Love, Andrea
