Dear God,

Rest, there is nothing like rest to refresh.  Today, I spent all day in bed resting and reading.  Periodically I looked out upon the rainy day watching as the ground took a rest too, soaking in the life-giving water.

I usually work too hard.  I give it my all.  I blame it on you because you gave me more energy than most.  I can labor for hours in the woods, in my home, creating gifts, picking and preserving foods and cleaning so I don't always take good care of this dwelling place you have given me.  Sometimes I overwork certain muscles and I injure them like knees and shoulders.  I fail to care for all you have given me.

But today, O Lord, you blessed me with rest, blessed rest and I am so very grateful.

You are God;
there is none
like you.
