Dear God,

The days are quickly slipping by; Christmas will be here in five days.  Am I ready, not in the sense of all my shopping, wrapping and cleaning but rather am I spiritually ready to receive you this Christmas?

We are so fixed on all the outer things needing done.  Our lists fill quickly, getting last minute gifts, making menus and buying groceries and making sure we haven't forgotten anyone.  Oh, so lost are we when we fail to reflect upon making ourselves ready for Christ to come once again.

I do so want to be ready, O Savior, I want to be ready to meet the God of my dreams, my soul and my faith.  Keep me attentive, make me prayerful and renew all that is good within me so I will be ready.

for the call
to prepare.
Thank you
for speaking,
urging and encouraging
us to
be prepared
for the coming.
Thank you,
Blessed God,
for the blessings
that make us yours.
