Dear God,
Early this morning as I sat with my circle of friends in devotion, it came to me on a gentle prayer that Advent is the season that is living water and spiritual food to me. As I sit reading my devotional books and pray, you speak and say wonderful things to me. You offer me living water, not just water from the tap but real water, living water that not only is sweet and tasty but also gives life, deep and rich life. And spiritual food, not like anything on the shelf or in the fridge, it is food that you can't get anywhere else. It nourishes and fills and blesses like no other. Yes, this is what Advent is to me!
As I listen to Harriet Tubman and her struggles with slavery, Chuck Colson and his difficulties to find the good life and the psalmist in his struggle with life on all levels, in these I drink living water and eat fine spiritual food. I listen and pray and eat and drink and I open up deep inside myself. I take in what they and you are giving me and I know the joy and hope and peace of a living faith in Jesus.
Advent, I love it. I walk in it daily, intentionally, deliberately and find such beautiful joy. It is you, Glorious God, it is you who provides and I am happy, wildly happy for our time together.
All glory
to you,
Holy God.
To you
all praise.
To you
all my gratitude
and thanksgiving.
Bless you,
Lord, bless you.
Love, Andrea
