Dear God,
Any moment can be a holy moment of insight. You can speak to us in holy ways that lead us not only to a closer walk with you but also give us answers to prayer, help in given situations and healing words.
This afternoon I watched the last two episodes of one of my favorite television shows, "Little House on the Prayer." I loved the series, its simple ways, family stories and cherished values. When I viewed "The Last Farewell," I wept not because it was the last episode from years ago but rather because it inspired me for a Sunday worship service that I will lead a week from now. I grabbed paper and pen and began writing. Three pages later I realized I had the beginnings of my sermon.
We are discouraged at our little church. A large sanctuary with 24 or so people can be disheartening over time. We don't currently have a pastor so we are taking care of ourselves. Our finances are down. To some it looks hopeless, maybe it is. Perhaps it is your way of telling us we have come to the end of this path that is opening us to something new. We are not sure. What I do know is the words you gave me today lifted my own soul, giving me words of hope, love and faith for the people of God on Dane Street.
Holy, holy, holy
are you,
Mighty and Loving God.
Truly all praise
goes to you.
You lead us
if we
will only follow.
Thank you
for today's
holy moments.
I received them
with grace.
I love you.
Always, Andrea
