Dear God,

I am awed by the generosity of people right now.  That bit of holy mercy you put in us at creation, well, in many places it is paying off.  People are helping people.

We are capable of so much more than we think or believe.  We have a reservoir of your love that is seated in the heart of us.  We may not see it, feel it or know it often but it is there, sometimes invisible like love of family and friends.  We can't see it but we know it to be a real reality in our lives.  We can drink from that refreshing reservoir anytime we like.  It is free for the taking.

When we are afraid, alone or troubled, it is probably a sign we need to take a drink.  And the more we drink, the more we will have to share.

Holy, Gracious God,
give us
a drink
of your
living water.
Replenish our supply.
Help our minds
and spirits
to take in
what we need
so we
can share,
I pray.
