Dear God,

When a limb is cut from a tree, it looks out-of-place, ugly and wounded.  But in time you help heal the wound and finally it becomes a beautiful part of the tree.  The tree itself encircles the injury, heals it and brings a kind of picturesque beauty to it.  Even now as I gaze at the pin oak tree just outside my study I see five beautiful rings that seem to be a testament to their trust in you and confidence in its own ability to heal.

We can be like that too, can't we Lord.  You give us the same abilities, love and heavenly touch.  You know that whatever happens to us, ultimately you leave signs of healing for the world to see.  We too can become a testament to our trust in you to help, heal and make whole.
