Dear God,

Winter debris is all over our yard, leaves that were not raked in the fall, twigs and branches broken and fallen during winter storms and pieces of oriental grass that detached and flew with the wind.  As I look out the window, it looks cold, muddy and unkempt.  The real questions that comes from this "nearly spring" scene is:  How is it with your soul?  Does it too need a cleanup?

The answer is yes I do.  Often you use nature to speak to us, to challenge and push us to reflect on our own interior lives.  Looking at my own, I realize I do need a cleanup in so many areas of my life.  But even as I examine my own insides, I believe you help us look at ourselves through the lens of hope and love which you always promise us.  We don't do hard things without you.

As I work in the yard to clean up for spring to truly emerge in a prepared area, I pray I will work on me too, to prepare for the spring spirit to come to me as well.

Loving God,
thank you
for nature calls.
Thank you
for faith
that teaches us
to trust you
so we
will see life
in a
deeper way.
Thank you
for my
cleanup lesson.

Love, Andrea
