Dear God,

It was a simple exercise with profound spiritual insight.  Each of us listened as you whispered qualities, characteristics and holy words that described us individually and then we cut slips of paper, wove them together, selected different colors for each word, and finally wrote the words on the paper slips.  In the holy exercise you spoke.

You whispered to me the words but more than that you spoke about how I was woven.  "Too tightly," you said.  I held up the weaving and saw that I had not left enough space for your light to shine through.  I pulled out a couple of slips and loosened others.  You told me to leave some blank so you could weave others in as they came.  By the end of the exercise all slips were loose and I realized you were remaking me, showing me the way you wanted my life to be.

Holy God,
on retreat
without distraction
where silence ruled,
you lead
the way
to valuable insights.
You showed me
the truth
that sets us free.
You whispered
your love
to me
once again,
to all
of us,
to each
of us.
You are God;
there is none
who love
like you.

Always, Andrea
