Dear God,
You grow our hearts. You give us the capacity to love, to love more and to love many. You stretch us to include others.
Today my 20-year-old granddaughter flew in for a week with us. How happy my grandma's heart was! Because of the pandemic, we didn't quite know how to greet one another. "What should we do?" I asked. "I don't know." She replied. "Should we hug with masks?" I asked. We both laughed even though we want to stay safe and well. Finally Sophie said, "Grandma, I think we should just hug." In the front seat of the car at the curb at the airport, we embraced. It was our first hug in months and we are both grandma-granddaughter huggers.
You constantly remind us of the gift of love. You show us your deep, abiding love for your children. You give us more and more love so we can share more. We love because you love us and because loving brings so much joy.
Thank you,
for holy love,
O God,
and for all
love is.
Thank you
for grandchildren,
yet another gift.
Thank you
for Sophie
and our
special time together.
Love, Andrea
