Dearest God,

No matter what happens, you teach us to trust you, to not fear, to not be anxious but rather to trust you wholeheartedly.  Because life throws wrenches in our lives, we can easily be thrown off course, become fearful and let worry eat away at us.  But this is not what you teach us to do.

Recently there have many situations where there has been the temptation to fall prey to anxiety, fear and grief.  And I did so.  But I heard your small voice whispering the call to come home, to surrender all that threatened my peace and to become vigilant in my trust in you.

Although we want quick, easy answers to life's problems, rarely do they come.  Rather more often than not, they lead to concern and worry.  But they don't have to because you are with us.  We have to confirm and affirm our belief in you, our trust in you and our decision to take your hand in the trials we face.  When we do so, our peace can return, we can see our way more clearly and we can breathe easier.

Teach us
the way
of peace,
Holy God.
Teach us
to trust you first
and foremost.
Then give us joy
and a desire
to praise you.

Love, Andrea
