Dear God,
This morning my two friends and I sat on one side of the picnic table in a shelter for worship. Although the gentle breeze blew and we used an outdoor sound system, still we worshipped you. Inside, outside, on zoom, Facebook live stream or a pre-recorded service, we are able to find you, sit with you, listen for your Word, wait in silence and share our prayer requests. All in all we are making our way to worship you in spirit and in truth,
Months ago we could not have imagined we would create worship in new, imaginative ways. We could not have imagined we could not step inside our beloved church buildings. We could not have imagined fear of a deadly virus would steal from us the ability to worship as we always have as one body together. But we have not allowed all these circumstances to keep us away from you and one another. We have stilled our hearts, drawn in and have surrounded ourselves with your loving presence in worship. We will continue as long as we are able.
Blessed God,
thank you
for making it possible
for us
to worship you.
Thank you
for making us community
although we
are apart
and yet
still part
of each other.
Thank you
for making us one
in spirit,
faith and love.
Yours forever, Andrea
